Video Balun
Connect CAT5 UTP cable to this balun, connect the balun to your CCTV camera, and transmit full motion analog CCTV video up to 600 meters (1968 feet) if monochrome, 400 meters (1312 feet) if color. BNC style connector on one side (for connection to your equipment), RJ45-style connector on the other side (for connection to your CAT5 cable).
Video baluns connect two unequal lines (coax and RG59 unshielded twisted pair in this case)and match impedance for video transmission. Please note you will need 2 video baluns for proper transmission. The first one connects to the CCTV camera directly at it's BNC output and converts the connection to a CAT5 cable. The cable attaches to the output of the balun. At the other end of the CAT5 cable you must place a matching video balun, and connect your monitor or DVR to it. A pair of baluns is essential to maintaining proper signal impedance and quality. Total distance between the camera and the monitor (or DVR) can be up to 600 meters (1968 feet) if monochrome, 400 meters (1312 feet) if color.
