This is a great surveillance camera for residential use, near front doors, in garages, etc. It has a 1/3" Sony color CCD video sensor with 420 lines resolution and infrared sensitivity, with 28 IR LEDs that give you a viewing range of up to 20 meters (65.6 feet) in total darkness. It has a 3.6mm aspherical lens for effective surveillance during day and night (aspherical lenses minimize image distortion and focus shift during IR operation - a common problem with cheaper IR cameras).
This indoor security camera also contains a strobing white LED that flashes every few seconds to let you know the camera is operational. It also makes it obvious that your location has surveillance cameras - you can't miss this tiny strobe at night. It flashes about once every 2-3 seconds and is very noticeable in the dead black of a dark night. Not only will it tell would-be criminals you've got cameras, it will draw attention to your business after-hours and increase awareness. NOTE: If you do not want this LED to strobe, you can disable it easily and doing so will not affect your warranty.
Other advanced features in this camera include an internal test monitor output, Smart IR control that prevents IR image washout and a 3-axis gimbaled bracket that allows you to mount the camera at any angle and get a good picture. Solder these leads directly to your power line or use wire nuts to make a tight "twist" connection - either way is fine.
